Dave Thomas has been delivering value by writing software for half a century. He cowrote the best-selling book "The Pragmatic Programmer" and is one of the creators of the Manifesto for Agile Software Development. His book "Programming Ruby" introduced that language to the world, and "Agile Software Development with Rails" helped kickstart a revolution in the way web applications were envisioned. He owns and runs The Pragmatic Programmers, LLC, a company dedicated to "developing developers." He resularly speaks at conferences and runs workshops and training around the world.

Despite this, developers and their managers are increasingly turning their backs on so-called "Agile" just when we need it most. And the sad thing is that they are right; Agile is no longer agile.
