Dr. Alexandros Eleftheriadis is a Partner at Big Pi Ventures, an early-stage deep tech venture capital fund that he co-founded in 2018. In 2005 he co-founded Vidyo, a pioneering videoconferencing systems company that was acquired by Enghouse in 2019. He has been an active angel investor with exits to Meta and Dell. Prior to Vidyo he was an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University. He has also held an appointment as an Associate Professor at the University of Athens, in the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications. He is an award-winning researcher with more than 100 publications, holds more than 150 patents internationally, and his inventions are used in several international digital video standards (H.264 AVC, H.265 HEVC, Blu-ray DVD, ATSC US digital terrestrial TV, and ARIB Japan digital TV). He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University in 1995 and his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens, Greece, in 1990.

Myrto Papathanou is a Founding Partner at Metavallon VC, a venture capital funding early-stage technology companies in Greece since 2018, with > € 50m AUM currently investing out of Fund II. She has over 20 years of experience in the fields of investment, finance and entrepreneurship and has also been involved in several non-profit projects advancing entrepreneurship, microfinance and women’s empowerment.v
Myrto started her career in London, working as a credit risk and portfolio analyst for Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein and later as a Fixed Income Strategist for EMEA at Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Returning to Greece, she has been involved in technology and high-tech companies as an executive and investor. Before co-founding Metavallon VC, she was Head of Corporate Development in EFA Ventures, a group active A&D and hightech verticals. For Metavallon VC, Myrto has led the investments in Think Silicon (acquired by Applied Materials), Better Origin, Ferryhopper and Advantis amongst others. She also currently serves as an independent Non-Executive Director at Thrace Group (ASE: PLAT) and Action Finance Initiative SA.
On the non-profit side, she cofounded ethelon, and currently serves on the Board of Directors of La French Tech Athens and INSEAD Alumni Association as well as on the Advisory Boards of WomenOnTop and The Hellenic Innovation Network.
In 2016 she was recognized by Linkage Greece as “Leader of the Year” and in 2020 she was included by Fortune magazine in the 40under40 list. Myrto is an economist, with an MSc in Finance from Imperial College and an MBA from INSEAD. Since 2019 she is a Kauffman Fellow, the first from Greece.

Nikos Antoniou is a seasoned venture capitalist with over 15 years of experience backing early-stage technology startup companies. He is a Founding Partner at Apeiron Ventures, a €25M pre-seed and seed-stage venture capital fund investing in B2B/SaaS startups that build vertical AI-native products and vertical AI platforms in various sectors (i.e. security and defense, construction tech, mobility, logistics, end-user apps, etc). Before Apeiron Ventures, Nikos was Managing Director at PJ Tech Catalyst Fund, one of Greece’s first venture capital funds, established in 2012 to support the country’s emerging startup ecosystem. During his tenure, he was involved in several notable investments and exits, including Accusonus (acquired by Meta), Pollfish (acquired by Prodege), Radiojar (acquired by iHeartMedia), and Mist.io (acquired by Dell), Taxibeat (acquired by Daimler/Benz Group), . Nikos began his career in investment banking after earning a BBA from Oglethorpe University and an MBA from Auburn University in the U.S., giving him a solid foundation at the intersection of finance and entrepreneurship.
